Artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has acquired Bun, a developer tool startup, to enhance the speed and stability of its coding agent, Claude Code. Anthropic plans to leverage Bun to scale its code-generation tool, which has already gained significant traction among enterprise customers. Founded by Jarred Sumner in 2021, Bun provides a comprehensive software toolkit for developers. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The move marks Anthropic’s strategic expansion into developer tooling, supported by recent investments from major players like Microsoft and Nvidia. Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI staff in 2021, has emerged as a key player in the AI space, challenging the dominance of OpenAI. The company’s recent valuation stands at $183 billion.
